Transition to College Program

Transition to College starts each Fall Semester!

Transitioning to college can be challenging. If you are coming to 4Cs from the workforce, are a non-native English speaker, a HiSET graduate, or have been out of school for a while, our Transition to College program is here to help you succeed in a college environment.

Navigate College with Confidence

To help you get the most out of your college experience, you will work with an advisor who is sensitive to your needs...and that can make all the difference. You will be shown how to access important support services such as Tutoring, the Reading and Writing Resource Center, Math Learning Center, and Career Exploration & Development.

No Cost College Courses!

As a Transition to College student, you will be eligible for NO COST CREDIT COURSES (including books.) You may take these classes with other students in the program and the credits can be used towards your degree. The group experience provides a supportive environment and this is a great opportunity to make new friends.

This Program is supported through a grant from the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

This is a free program with admission preference for students from DESE funded ESOL and HISET programs primarily who want to attend Cape Cod Community College to pursue a certificate or degree program. It is not a program for learning conversational English but rather to improve one’s academic English for success in pursuing a certificate or degree. Students receive academic support and advising as well as assistance in completing the FAFSA if eligible for financial aid through the MA Reconnect, MA Educate, and MA Tuition Equity programs toward a degree or certificate at Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable in subsequent semesters. Those not eligible for these programs will receive financial aid from the PACT program for one additional class in subsequent semesters.
